Why was the resurrection of Jesus physical is God is a spirit,why did the earthly body of Jesus have to be?

why was Jesus' resurrection physical? Why did his body (a shell) have to resurrected,why did the body of Jesus have to be resurrected(I thought he wouldn't need to live in the shell again?
