Opinions on the record industry?

We all know that for a while now the record industry has preferred image over music. Look at stuff like LFO, Backstreet Boys and all of the Disney crap that is out now. I understand that's for kids but it just came to mind. Anyway, When I think of all of the talented people that don't get discovered and at the same time you have garbage like that Gaga chik or whatever it really makes me want to VOMIT! What are your opinions?
