Cat having frantic fits and licking?

I have a 13 year old who does the same thing. I don't think it's an allergy or anything like that. Cat's have very sensitive backs. If they get their ''hairs crossed'' it will itch and bother them. she stop after while. As far as the ears...could be wax. If they look clean and he's not scratching or anything I would say wax.
